FYP

Here are the details about my FYP:

The idea is to create a billboard that can 'interact' with the users by using various sensors. Mobile devices will be connected via bluetooth to be used as game controllers to interact with the advertisements. You have probably predicted that Flash will be used. Yes, it will be because it is the most interactive development kit arond I can think of. Most of the modules are already up, except for...

  • The IR Camera which will be used for finger sensing....That is the IRRITATING part..
  • Profiling of various advertisements
  • Scheduling
  • Integration
  • Database of the advertisements
These are rather simple stuff, except for the finger sensing, which I suppose will be up within 1 month of continuous work. I havent been working too much on it recently because of the stupid assignments which have been piling up.

Yesterday, I went through the top 100 brands in the world~
After which I googled through the available flash sites for relevant flash advertisement to be used in this project.

Hopefully, I will have some useful suggestion soon...
Any more suggestions???

Nice FYP blog. I have one too! Keep it up! I can't see your diagram though, its too small and doesn't open up a new window.

Wiimote can detect maximum of 4 blobs btw :)
I had fun messing with OpenCV during my internship.

haha thanks. yes I do know the IRCamera can detect 4 blobs. If got time i upload the IR Camera here...that is if i am happier when I can get it to work...:D

Watch out and don't fall into the Wii trap just because its the latest "craze". Not everyone has a Wii, you should use commodity hardware whenever possible ;)
(Its a bigger flaw than you think.)

For interaction GUI, I suggest using Quartz Composer which is available on Apple Mac only. I used it for my internship, its aesthetically pleasing, and supports OSC communication protocol.

The OSC protocol is extremely flexible, and I could get it to work with various inputs such as TCP/IP, wiimote, etc...

Okie, but GUI wise..not much for my project. Becuase I am tapping into the internet for flash advertisement which means pretty much othe rpeople has already done it for me already hahaa
